Pachaug State Forest and its campgrounds are alcohol free facilities. One pet per site is allowed at Green Falls Campground. It must be on a leash at all times, which is less than 7 feet in length.
EEE Alert : The State Mosquito Management Program is warning Connecticut residents about the risk of infection by eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) and West Nile virus (WNV) this season. As of late August 2024, the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station has detected EEE-infected mosquitoes in Canterbury, Ledyard, North Stonington, Sterling and Voluntown. Information on EEE and WNV, mosquito bite prevention, mosquito test results, and human infection updates can be found on the Connecticut Mosquito Management Program website at https://portal.ct.gov/mosquito.

Recreation:
Green Falls Pond is the primary fishing site for Green Falls Campground. Beachdale Pond is close by, is stocked with trout, has natural bass, pickerel and bullhead. The fishing area has a fishing platform off of Route 49 with wheelchair access.
